Jessica M. Bishop
Designer and writer.
A little context—
Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a designer and writer focused on learnability, storytelling, sensemaking, wayfinding, and removing barriers to learning. I work as an instructional designer on an eLearning team for a small, private university in the Midwest. My prior experiences include an eclectic mix of retail, public libraries, technology, publishing, communications, and small business. In May 2024, I am graduating from the Learning Technologies and Design (MS) graduate program and User Experience and Usability graduate certificate at the University of Missouri. I earned my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Honors) from Rochester University.
I live in Michigan with my husband, son, and cat. I enjoy walking, reading, and listening to music. I am currently writing a novel.
Write. Design. Learn.
I’m interested in the ways we can provide human-centered experiences infused with useful, meaningful, and relevant context. I’m learning out loud to explore share solutions informed by:
- learning science and pedagogy
- plain writing and storytelling
- user experience and usability
- universal design and accessibility
- information science and information architecture
- content design and UX writing
